Landscape photo trips to Iceland

Imagine waterfalls over 100 meters high, rivers winding through the snow-covered tundra, cascades frozen solid by winter, and the first rays of sunlight shining through icebergs stranded on a black sand beach.
Imagine a herd of wild reindeer at the bottom of a fjord, seals resting on an ice floe where polar bears no longer come. Imagine the Northern Lights invited by the sky to put on a fleeting show.
Wherever you look, a distinctive, unique, and moving landscape looks back at you. That is our definition of landscape photography in Iceland!

A landscape photographer on your team

The main purpose of our photo trips to Iceland is to give you the opportunity to spend time with professional photographers who know Iceland inside and out. It’s not just about helping you improve your photography skills and take beautiful landscape photos, but also about understanding the mindset that drives our guides and their journey as nature photographers.

We speak several languages

We don’t want language to be a barrier between the photographers and us, the guides. That’s why we offer photography workshops in several languages, including English, German, and French.

All skill levels are welcome

Our photography trips to Iceland are designed for photographers of all skill levels. During our workshops, we form small groups to ensure that no photographer feels left behind. Our guides are experienced in leading diverse groups.

Welcome to wild Iceland

Our guides are landscape and wildlife photographers. In other words, they have dedicated their lives to nature. Our photography tours take you to the heart of wild Iceland. You’ll learn all about the local flora and fauna, Iceland’s geology, as well as the island’s history and culture.

Iceland’s Nature

It’s no secret that Iceland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. And its natural landscape is so unique that it feels like you’re on another planet!

Iceland’s landscapes are made up of coastlines where black-sand beaches sometimes give way to steep cliffs, a paradise for seabirds. As soon as you venture into the valleys, waterfalls and cascades follow one after another. They’re impressive for their height and flow. Further inland lies the realm of mountains, powerful winds, and an extreme climate.

Iceland’s geographical location makes it a unique island where the warm currents of the Gulf Stream mingle with Arctic winds. The south brings warmth, the north brings cold, and nature harmoniously blends these two opposing forces.
From this location emerged hot springs gushing from the earth’s core, storms that make life in Iceland a constant challenge, and rock formations that have inspired countless myths and legends.

Iceland’s nature is a call to adventure!

Iceland’s nature is a call to adventure, and we answer that call with our landscape photo trips to Iceland

The realm of minimalism and silence

Iceland is a realm of silent, minimalist nature. Every detail, every color, every light is worth taking the time to appreciate. The island seems to have been created for dreamers and creative minds.

During our photography trip to Iceland, you’ll learn to refine your compositions, visualize your shot before taking it, and capture emotions through your images.

Iceland reveals itself only to photographers who know how to observe!

A photo trip to Iceland, Off the Beaten Path

Of course, we take landscape photographers to well-known spots in Iceland, as these locations are simply unmissable. But above all, we head to remote places, off the beaten path, to discover natural treasures that most photographers are unaware of.

Our goal is not to reproduce photographs that already exist by the thousands on the internet, but to help you discover places that inspire you. Every photographer should be able to tell their own story and create photographs that are uniquely their own. That is our philosophy during our photo trips to Iceland.

Professional landscape photography guide

A landscape photo trip to Iceland led by professional photographers

Our photography guides have a dual mission during our photography trips to Iceland: first, to guide you to the best spots for landscape photography, and second, to help you improve your photography skills and get the most out of your trip. Whether it’s managing lighting, composition, camera settings, or developing your artistic vision, you’ll be supported by experienced photographers who know Iceland inside and out.

One of the highlights of this photography tour in Iceland is the unique weather conditions: the Northern Lights, storms, sunrises and sunsets, fog, and more. Our guides will be there to support you and help you navigate these conditions, and even turn them into an advantage. An Icelandic horse under the Northern Lights or a landscape swept by a blizzard are all opportunities to tell authentic stories and capture unique images.

During our photography tours, the guides also offer advice on equipment and share their experiences of harsh environments: the cold of the Arctic, the heat of the Sahara, and so on. This workshop will enhance not only your photography skills but also your understanding of life in the wild.

Wildlife photo trips to Iceland

What we love most of all is seeing wildlife in all its glory!

While Iceland is known for its magnificent landscapes and unique natural sights, not enough is said about its exceptional Icelandic wildlife.
Iceland is, first and foremost, a paradise for arctic foxes. We offer a photography tour dedicated to this species—but that’s not all! Millions of seabirds and land birds breed on the island every summer. From the Atlantic puffin to the razorbill, including the golden plover and ducks such as the common eider and the harlequin duck, Iceland is a haven of peace and, indeed, a paradise for wildlife photographers and nature enthusiasts in general.

In the summer, we focus on Arctic foxes, seabirds, and cetaceans (humpback whales, minke whales, orcas…), while winter is the ideal time to observe wild reindeer, harbor seals, and the bird species that overwinter on the island.

Photographing Arctic animals in such unique landscapes is the goal of our wildlife photography trip to Iceland.

A photo tour with an Arctic fox expert

Our Arctic fox photo tour in Iceland is led by a wildlife photographer who has been working with Arctic foxes for 10 years and has gained extensive experience and knowledge of the species. This ensures that you’ll be able to understand their behavior and get answers to your questions.

An immersive experience

Our wildlife photography tour in Iceland takes place in the heart of the Arctic fox’s territory, in the most remote region of the island. We offer an immersive experience in an area with the highest density of Arctic foxes in the Arctic. It’s literally about living alongside them!

Ethics First

We can’t stress this enough, because this matter is so important to us: On our photography trips in Iceland and elsewhere, ethics come first! All participants in our workshops must sign a code of conduct committing them to follow rules designed to protect wildlife.

An international group of nature enthusiasts

Our photography trips to Iceland also offer wildlife photographers the chance to meet nature enthusiasts from all over the world. We travel with photographers of various nationalities, which makes sharing experiences and information all the more interesting.

In the Footsteps of the Icelandic Arctic Fox

This photography tour is designed for wildlife photographers seeking immersive experiences. We’ll take you deep into the territory of the Arctic foxes, among black-sand beaches and cliffs where millions of seabirds nest. An extraordinary adventure in a region where humans no longer live!

Iceland’s Wildlife

Iceland’s wildlife is rich and unique. It includes survivors of the last ice age, such as the Arctic fox and the rock ptarmigan. However, some animals, like the reindeer, were introduced by humans, even though they are now entirely wild.

The Arctic fox is the only land mammal in Iceland. But it is not the only mammal we observe. Harbor seals are very curious during our photography workshops. And it is common to spot a humpback whale, a minke whale, or orcas during the boat crossing.

Iceland is one of the wildest places we know. That’s why we chose this area for our Arctic fox photography tour.

Our Ethical Approach in a Nutshell

As mentioned above, we never visit places where animals are fed by humans. Our motto is: no interaction with wildlife!
We stick to this same philosophy even when animals are not very shy (such as the Icelandic arctic fox) and approach us.

Respecting wildlife also means ensuring we leave places exactly as we found them. We take our trash with us and avoid damaging vegetation outside our camp. In fact, we never cut down trees or shrubs. We are there to observe, learn, and bear witness to nature in its free and wild state.

We’ve decided to make our website a true hub for learning and information. In fact, we publish articles on our blog every month. We cover a wide range of topics: in-depth features on wildlife, such as our article on Arctic foxes, photography techniques, photography and hiking gear, ethical concerns, and descriptions of the places we visit.

Why this approach? Our goal is to build a community of nature photographers who share our values. We don’t just want to guide people on photo tours; we also want to help them grow beyond that setting.

Additionally, our blog allows us to publish reports from previous photo trips to Iceland. These articles help us communicate and be transparent about both successes and failures. It’s important to us to build a relationship of trust with the photographers who join our adventures. We believe that this relationship of trust is built by aligning photographers’ expectations with the reality on the ground.
